I am a dedicated student-athlete at Arizona State University, where I proudly play on the Women’s Lacrosse team while pursuing my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. Balancing the demands of athletics and academics has taught me discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, qualities that guide me in every area of my life. My academic path reflects my passion for health sciences and my commitment to helping others, with aspirations of becoming a pediatric physical therapist specializing in children with developmental disabilities.
From a young age, I have been driven by a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with special needs. During high school, I volunteered extensively in the multiple disabilities classroom, where I assisted teachers with student transfers, feeding routines, and physical therapy and motor development sessions. Beyond those responsibilities, I focused on building personal connections, making sure every student felt seen, supported, and valued. I also served as a peer mentor in the self-contained classroom, where I provided guidance while building lasting friendships with the students I worked alongside.
These experiences solidified my calling to pursue a career dedicated to helping children reach their fullest potential. My compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication to supporting those with developmental disabilities continue to inspire my academic and professional journey. Through athletics, academics, and service, I strive to embody leadership and empathy, with the goal of creating a future where my work as a pediatric physical therapist will change lives for the better.
Throughout my high school years and into college, I have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to inclusion and support for individuals with special needs. During my last two years of high school, I helped found a Special Olympics Unified Sports Club and a Unified PE class. As a peer on the soccer, basketball, and track teams, I adapted and assisted to meet the athletes’ needs. In Unified PE, I collaborated with teachers to create activities that engaged students of all ability levels, including those with multiple disabilities. At Arizona State University, I have continued this work by joining Special Olympics ASU. My dedication and impact have been recognized through several honors, including the Loudoun County Public Schools Special Education Advisory Committee’s “Excellence in Supporting Special Education – Outstanding Inclusive Student” award and Woodgrove High School’s Appreciation Award, which is given to the student who best exemplifies friendship, acceptance, and commitment to individuals with special needs both within and beyond the school community.
